We'd like to invite all of the members and constituents of your group to several free events at the United Nations next month. This is a great opportunity for students to visit the United Nations and to see civil society in action.

UN Messenger of Peace Michael Douglas, supermodel/humanitarian Christie Brinkley and a slew of the world's most experienced and influential diplomats will come together to discuss the dangers of nuclear weapons and what we can do about them. One of our aims is to reach out beyond the corridors of the UN and to involve students and concerned citizens across this city.

Would you help us spread the word?

A full listing of our events is available here. We've also attached a flyer that we encourage you to spread far and wide. Please give us a call at any time if you have any questions or concerns. Ask to speak to Rhianna Tyson, the Senior Officer of the Global Security Institute.

As we mentioned, the events are free but individuals MUST register no later than April 29 to Rhianna at: rtyson@gsinstitute.org; +1 646 289 5170.

Thank you,

I could help work at the table on Tuesday February 24th if no one else has volunteered already.

Also should we figure out the questions ourselves that we're going to ask at the discussion on February 19th or are we going to meet early on the 19th to discuss our questions as I'm not too knowledgable about concepts in economics.

It's not our problem. It's NY State's problem. Education is always the first to be cut during a budget crises, yet it is the most important during a recession. Baruch has been cutting costs, by the Governor wants to raise our tuition anyway.

"NO to a tuition hike, NO to budget cuts, and NO to layoffs"

In order to avoid those things, you will need to either obtain more money for them, or reduce something else. It's very easy to say "No!", but less easy to find solutions to the underlying problems. As a PAC, you should be thinking in terms of "What needs to be done to achieve this goal," rather than just pushing the problem into a different corner.
